I love this picture. Ruthie and Abby can think of nothing better to do than play dress-up. Joanna feels a little strange about it, but it was great fun helping the younger girls into their outfits. We plan (weather permitting) to go to a little costume party that our adoption agency puts on every year. They grill hotdogs and serve whatever else people bring in the way of potluck. There are horse rides and a petting zoo plus a few games. We knew that Joanna would need a costume, so we headed to Wal-Mart and found three in about her size. She chose the white bride costume (with all the silver sequins on the front). For a little girl who seemed embarrassed to play dress-up, she was absolutely beside herself over this beautiful dress, including a veil! All the girls got pretty excited, and by the time bedtime rolled around, they were wilder than March hares!Oh - a special thanks to Barb for the alphabet program she recommended. If anyone wants a really good website for learning letters and the sounds they make, go to http://www.starfall.com/. Joanna has been glued to that site and it is amazing how quickly she is picking up the letters, the sounds, and even some words. Ruthie watched her use it today, and she reported that this is the program that her charter school uses for kindergartners. It's so interactive, and the kids have had a great time with it.
