A Little Background

Bob & I have been married since 1976, and were high school sweethearts before that. We had what I call our "original family," which included three sons: Danny, Sam, and Nathan. Then there is the "second family." This would include our little baby, Ben, who sadly did not live long; our two daughters from China: Ruthie and Abby; and Nathan, our 17 year old, who is the only "original" kid to overlap into both groups! We are now in the process of bringing home Shao Niu, who is our Joanna Faith. She is an eight year old girl from Shaoyang in the Hunan Province and will become the oldest of our three daughters.

Our dossier was sent to China on 5/11/07, and we received a log-in date of 5/17/07. The average wait has been 71-73 days until receiving your letter of acceptance with another 2-3 week wait to receive travel approval. THEN - your adoption agency must schedule a consultate date, and you are free to go! Whew! Our best guess is late August or early September, and, of course, we are cheering for the August date.

By the way, we have two dogs too, one being thanks to Sam! Very rarely a dull moment around this joint!
